Serving California’s Homeless

Welcoming Interim Shared Housing Is a social service, and housing organization for California’s homeless, and low-income population.

We aim to provide comprehensive, long-lasting, and tangible service to the homeless population in an effort to not only provide those in need with tools to live a better life but to also provide the public with real results towards addressing California’s homeless epidemic.

We offer a broad portfolio of services enabling us to provide each individual or family with the specific services that they need – we take the steps needed to discover each case’s actual need and we take the appropriate action(s).

We believe that we have a better way!

About Us

W.I.S.H. was founded in the summer of 2019 in Los Angeles, CA. We’re an organization that provides housing and wrap-around social services to homeless, low-income individuals, and families who otherwise cannot afford housing in LA.

We currently serve approximately 55 individuals, ranging in age from 3 months to 72 and have 9 housing units located throughout east, south, west, and downtown LA. Nearly 45% of our units were built between 2017 and 2021!

In addition to housing services, we also provide a wide range of complimentary social services aimed at improving the lives of our tenants including employment assistance/training, documentation assistance, linkage to community services, and a lot more!

We conduct daily Substance Abuse Disorder (SUD) support groups focused on narcotics and alcohol abuse as well as parenting and self-care groups. Our sober living housing for women and children is located in the heart of the city, where it is needed most.

What We Do

How We Do It

We provide services as a ONE STOP SHOP, helping those we serve to navigate “the system”, something that’s commonly difficult for those within the homeless population.

W.I.S.H. applies a comprehensive, structured approach and provides an environment which delivers effective treatment and a continuum of care.

We’re also big proponents and put a lot of emphasis on Associability of Services!

In our rapidly evolving society, the plight of seniors has become increasingly concerning. The 2019 report “The Emerging Crisis of Aged Homelessness” alarmingly indicates that seniors represent the fastest-growing homeless demographic, a situation anticipated to intensify if we don’t take immediate action. In response to this critical need, we’ve created a comprehensive guide that serves as a lifeline for seniors and their families navigating these challenging circumstances.

The easily accessible guide provides pragmatic solutions, empowering seniors and their families to secure emergency housing, obtain financial assistance, and explore rapid rehousing options. Please visit this link to review our resource: https://www.caring.com/caregivers/emergency-housing-guide/.

Raise Your Helping Hand

As a grassroots community-based organization, W.I.S.H.’s goal is to help the homeless build self-integrity and live a better quality of life by providing the services they most need; services that are tangible, consistent, and ongoing.

By targeting the most acute issues within the community like mental health, SUD, physical health, and lack of sustainable housing we can provide a consistent focus of support for everyone we come in contact with, as they begin their path to a better quality of life.
